Yay for wanting to beat Lesley's cousin with a spiked bat.

I just got home a little while ago, after spending around two hours in the E.R. with Lesley.

OK, let's back up some. When Lesley didn't come to my house this morning like he said he would, I assumed he had overslept. So I headed over to his house to wake him up. When I git there, I was greeted with (literally) the door being opened and "I don't feel so hot." He had stomach cramps that made him "understand how girls feel when they're PMSing."

So he stayed home from school and I went. After school I picked up his homework, bought him a rose to make him feel better, and headed back to his house. He seemed to be doing better, so I was pleased. Everything was normal for awhile; we hung out, ate dinner, and he started to do dishes. While he was doing dishes, he went in his room and lied down because his cramps had come back.

If it were just stomach cramps, I wouldn't have worried. Instead, he had cramps, was dizzy, couldn't breathe, saw color spots (without previously staring at a light), had chest pain, was pale for a little while, and had a strange heart beat. He looked half alive. It was very scary and I didn't know what to do. I was afraid to leave his side, even to go get the phone. But I did eventually get up, get the phone from Karen (his cousin) and called my mom at work. After talking to her (and having her say it sounds like signs of appendicitis), we decided that he needed to go to the ER (which we had actually decided before, but I wanted to hear my mom's opinion).

I go to talk to Karen and Explain to her that he needs to go to the ER. So she says fine and gets up to call a cab. But here's what pisses me off: she seemed to care more about the prospect of having to get up and take him to the doctor, than she did about the fact that Hello, Lesley might actually have something wrong with him. (In fact, when I went out to get the phone, she was on it, and seemed irritated that she needed to get off.)

So we get to the ER, sit down and wait, and wait, and go a little crazy. (Sidenote: American Idol is not ideal Emergency Room Television programming. Have some mercy!) Finally he's called in, and asked all the typical questions, and then about what's wrong, etc. Karen bugs the hell out of me once again by answering questions for Lesley, when she doesn't even know what's going on, because her ass wasn't in the room to witness his pain. I was. Therefore, supplemental information provided by me makes sense.

Anyway, they run some tests and what not. Poor Lesley; he had to endure a rectal exam. Eesh. Turns out that he doesn't have appendicitis, which is great news, but they "don't know" what is wrong with him. I just hope he stays ok. I was actually crying because I was so worried about him. I still am worried, but a little less since the negative diagnosis.

But I still want to beat Karen with a spiked bat for the way she treated him tonight, and all the snide little remarks she made to him. (I think I actually caught something like "You're going to be fine, quit bitching." Also, after the diagnosis and Lesley saying that he still hurts regardless, she said "Oh, so what? You're fine.") Please, can I beat her? Please?

I had suggested to Lesley and my mom the possibility of transfering gaurdianship of him from her to my mom. I'm not sure how such a thing would work out, but my mom didn't seem opposed to it. We'll talk about it later.

So how was YOUR day?
